Cordoama Beach

Cordoama BeachCordoama Beach is our favourite location! Wide white sand beach, with huge cliffs surrounding it. It’s mainly a beach break with several peaks to be ridden, the wave is powerful and in ideal days long and hollow, but it also provides ideal conditions for beginners to ride they’re first waves.
Freeride has a Surf Center in Cordoama beach where you can rent boards and wetsuits, and where you can book your lessons or surfaris. Our Staff is there to help you with anything you need.
This is definitely one of the places to go in the Sagres area.

Ponta Ruiva Beach

Ponta Ruiva Beach

Ponta Ruiva is a wild and secluded beach with difficult access. Once you get there you get that feeling of “well worth the mud tracks.” This beach provides for both, beach breaks and point breaks. On the left side of the beach there’s a bed of rocks in a triangle form that provide for a long and consistent left hander, not hollow but very powerful. In the middle of the beach you will find a peak that breaks over a sand bank, this break usually provides for a left and right handers. It’s an amazing location with huge cliffs surrounding it, making it a place to remember. Ponta Ruiva beach (Ginger Point) gets it’s name from a orange rock located on the left side of the beach. Make sure you visit! Note: On rainy days a four wheel drive vehicle is advised as it gets muddy.

Tonel Beach

Tonel BeachLocated right in the centre of Sagres it’s a wide and pleasant beach surrounded by huge cliffs that provide for shelter from the sun and wind. Tough it has some rocks scattered, it’s a beach break that provides an ideal location for beginners to ride they’re first waves. Very accessible and with an amazing view to the “Fortaleza de Sagres” Sagres fortress. Make sure you rent your boards first, as there’s no servicing of surf gear at the beach.
